Albania approved a temporary waiver of tourist visas for nationals of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Indonesia, and Thailand between April 15 and December 31, 2025, during its cabinet meeting on 9 April.
With a valid passport issued in the past 10 years, nationals from these countries can enter Albania for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
This move was made to strengthen tourism during the peak season and is part of larger efforts to facilitate travel and promote Albania as a tourist destination, especially among travelers from the Gulf and Southeast Asia.
Currently, foreign nationals who have a valid, multiple-entry Schengen, US, or UK visa that has been previously used, or a valid permit of stay in one of those countries, can also enter the country without a visa.
Additionally, individuals who have a 10-year residence permit in the UAE with at least a one-year period of validity can travel visa-free to Albania.
Foreigners who are ineligible for a visa waiver will need to apply for a Type “C” or Type “D” visa. The Type “C” visa will permit a 90-day stay in Albania within a period of 180 days, while a Type “D” visa is valid for one year and will allow its holders to apply for a residence permit after entering the country.
Both visas may be issued for single, double, or multiple entries.
